Ex-S. Korean PM gets questioned over unsuccessful martial law attempt
According to reports, prosecutors will decide after this session whether to seek an arrest warrant against Han. Earlier in the week, he underwent nearly 16 hours of questioning.
Investigators suspect Han either took part in or helped facilitate Yoon’s martial law declaration. He is also accused of assisting in the drafting and later destruction of an altered version of the decree.
During testimony before the National Assembly in February, Han insisted he did not know about the decree until martial law was officially lifted on December 4. He added that he later discovered a copy of the decree “in his back pocket.”
However, prosecutors are said to possess surveillance footage from the presidential office that allegedly shows Han reviewing martial law documents, contradicting his earlier account.
